i have fallen in love with the most unique bed i have laid my eyes on - the Mood Rocking Bed.  designed by joe manus of Shiner International, it is a functional, one-of-a-kind, and exquisite piece of furniture meant to last a lifetime.  and it's like nothing i have seen!  the clean lines, the simplistic structure, the perfectly planned design...steel and reclaimed wood at their finest. 

all of joe's wonderfully modern pieces are constructed in atlanta, georgia from materials that would have otherwise been destroyed.  so, not only are his furniture creations fabulous and heirloom-worthy, but they are environmentally-conscious as well.  a win-win situation if you ask me.

this is the way i like many things in my life...including jewelry. 

it amazes me every single day that something so basic can be so gorgeous.  just the right angle, a touch of sparkle, a clever concept, a fresh view on something "usual" and non-exciting - it is all so invigorating to me!  which must explain why i spent quite some time examining each of Upper Metal Class' jewelry pieces...

my absolute favorite item in the shop is the pair of Sunset Rocks earrings.  they resemble faceted jewels, add just the right amount of interest, and are the perfect amount of bling to add to the perfect outfit.

urban curiosities

sometimes i catch myself gawking at the strangest of things...

maybe it was strangeness that attracted me to EarthSeaWarrior's part creepy, part amazing, but beautiful online shop.  vintage babies with air plants sprouting out of their heads [amongst other body parts...], funky industrial lighting creations paired with brightly-colored cloth cords, a growing selection of found skulls and sea creatures [ethically sourced of course], and fantastic crystals with added points of interest such as carved skulls and minerals captured in corked vials.

i enjoy an odd conversation piece any day and was initially drawn to the unique placement of ESW's air plants...and have since fallen in love with their lighting fixtures.  especially this one which is a revamped cast iron candle stick with a fabulous light bulb with flowers that light up inside!  stunning. the combination of the bright neon green cord with the red flowers is fab - great use of color contrast. 

take a look around at the illuminations with beautiful pops of color and strange arrangements.
